Title: Help with parts. Help with turn signals.
Post by: HolaSenor on April 29, 2013, 03:09:17 PM
Hello everyone,

I purchased a 1992 gs500e on saturday and getting right to it to make it a nice looking streetfighter. I'll post pics soon. I'm looking for a few parts which you guys may be able to help me with.

-Black levers both clutch and brake
-Replacement bolts, I've stripped two already preferably some sort of alternative to OEM since they bend like play dough. Maybe a kit?
-Best place to purchase dominators (dual headlights) I found them on ebay for 130 with the bulbs. Though no mounts. other option is aztec8 but $258 seems high?

As for my turn signals. They came with Led turn signals. They turn on but don't blink? I was told they needed resistors? Now they don't even turn on anymore. Possible fixes? I figured turn signals would be plug and play.

Thanks!

There is a fix that you have to do with diodes, not resistors. They must be placed in line with the blinker on the correct wire and the correct orientation. Adidasguy has the picture of how to do it and I am sure he will be around shortly. As for you levers, you might like these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-2012-Suzuki-GS500-GS-500-500E-500F-CARBON-LEVERS-/330914609076?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d0c0c37b4&vxp=mtr

I bought a pair just like these and they were also on the bike when I got them. They are pretty sleek looking levers, but a lot of people like the real expensive unbreakable levers, ASV levers or something rather.
