Title: R6 exhaust ?
Post by: wayne242 on April 30, 2013, 06:32:39 PM
I searched first, but maybe I'm over looking it.. I found a few talking about R6 exhaust, but no details on it.

Will this R6 exhaust work on a 06 gs? Its off an 07.

Would it still have enough back pressure for the gs? Also as anyone here used this R6 can?

Back pressure is a myth.  Your concern should be whether or not it would make the bike run too lean, which it almost most certainly would.  A rejet would be necessary.

If it's already jetted for an aftermarket pipe, switching from one aftermarket pipe to another wont change anything.

I don't mean to hijack your thread but I had a question pertaining to the contents of the thread.  Do you need to rejet with even a slip on pipe?  If so what would happen if you werent to rejet.

Don't do it!  It will cause your bike to spontaneously combust!  I'll let others explain.

You'll probably be fine with stock jetting and a slip-on. But, you'll tend to run a little lean, which causes increased temperature, and can lead to detonation and engine damage.

It was jetted with stock pipe(my engine out of my wrecked bike).

I had to toss the back pressure in the question for fun ;)
