Title: RS500 parts only through Suzuki?
Post by: twistit on May 01, 2013, 06:52:14 AM
I'm tearing down my '97 GS500 to put all new bearings in it and was wondering if the only way you can get Suzuki parts is via a dealer?  My sister's boyfriend has an auto repair shop and can get me parts with his wholesale number but  I don't know if he can order direct from Suzuki.  Does anyone here know?

I doubt one can get genuine Suzuki parts without ultimately going to Suzuki, but bearings (I'm assuming we're talking wheel bearings) don't have to be factory parts.  He should be able to cross reference a suitable third party replacement.  When I replaced wheel bearings on my Kawasaki a few years back, I went to the dealer, but the bearings they gave me weren't Kawi branded.
