Over the years I have given you so much crap about H-D, well look what we just added to the garage. No more sport bikes.

When you have 0 self control, every ride is a felony traffic stop waiting to happen on a super sport. The fact that I am not a felon on traffic violations is more due to sheer luck than anything else.
The thought of riding the 954 in town always sucked I got to where I didn't like riding it in town.
Big Twin Torque is nice, 2 up I don't realize I have a passenger. And the wife is comfortable.
I looked forward to riding my motorcycle to work today, something I did not enjoy the last 4 or 5 years.

Well at least you didn't get one of those fat pigs with bags, trunk, climate control, stereo, cup holder, butt warmer, etc. You should have traded up to one of these old man bikes. It's still a heavy pig but it can still hang with the sports.

I let my buddy who rides a Electra Glide ride mine VFR he had a big ole smile on his face. He said "now that's a bike I could own". Not quite a CBR but close. And, a lot more comfy.
Yes the VFR is more comfortable, but still not as comfortable as my Harley, and it's certainly far more comfortable on the Harley for my wife when she rides as a passenger with me, which she does a lot.

yup he didnt get a goldwing , or bmw bagger, orkawi. here we go again, bike makes same power as most in its class. HOWEVER, it makes it down low in the rev range. this bike has enough power to pull a vehicle. same as some of the old kawi police bikes. plus you can change the displacement on the HD's w/o pulling the engine. HOWEVER being FI, need that damned computer to change things like idle speed. ( power commander makes a device to allow this. there are two plugs, one black, and one grey. will explain another time the ins and outs of both. ALSO the BAS ( bank angle switch ) via pm will tell you how to disable it if need be. and re-enable it so as to not void warranty.
Aaron
i did enjoy riding my sportster through the dragon. 3rd gear all the way.
I think we're gonna hit Deals Gap in a couple of weeks.
Saddle Bags and rack bag will be here tomorrow. Vacation days requested, bosses notified we are traveling by motorcycle and camping for 9 days, 8 nights and away we will go. Or maybe we'll go do New Mexico and Colorado. Or we could be going to the Badlands, no telling we're gonna decide the night of the 7th and start rolling the 8th.
All good trips imho. have done the gap on my gs, and the sportster. and one trip ona 41 harley with a jockeyshift. wanting to say it was an ironhead? or a shovel. guy rode my gs i rode his hd. unlike many here he didnt hate. actually liked the gs lol. was different hand shifting the hd.
If we go your direction I'll shoot you a PM with contact info before we leave might have to come stir up some shaZam! in your neck of the woods.
right on :) would be awesome

Headed out Saturday morning, should be in the area Monday or Tuesday. Check your PM's.
Good mexican place down road from my home. margaritas and mexican beers galore. and food too.
I wanted to make it by even told my wife about it but I was like an ADD kid with all the roads out there. Disappointed I didn't have 2 more days to go ride the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The bolt bolt head on the heat shield clamp is dragging the ground. You can see sparks under the bike in the picture.
I am impressed with the OEM tires on the Dyna's, Michelin designed the Scorcher series specifically for HD and it reminded me of the pilot power 2's on the 954 they felt planted stable and gave good feedback. I won't get to use the entire tire though the exhaust drags on the right and the peg stops me on the left, I pushed the tire to the limits of the bikes ability and am very happy with it's performance. We did 2300 miles on the 9 day trip, with the 1400 miles already on the bike in the first month we owned we now have 3700 miles on the clock. At 3000 miles the PP2 on the 954 was roached and due for replacement. This tire still has good service life left. At $245 a tire it's not any cheaper than powers though. I might try the Dunlost tires next at $145 but I really am impressed with this one.

Sure enough I do see sparks. I know I dragged on both the gs and the sportie. kinda fun lol
So Yama we upgraded. 6000 miles on the Dyna in 3 months the dealership was surprised. 48 hours after we bought the street glide I was ready for 1k service.

beautiful bike, from the start my grandfather kept trying to push me to a HD. like an 883 sportster, but i just couldnt do it. watching my uncle on a rocket always looked like fun. then a friend of mine let me jump on his road king with ape hangers on it... lets just say a 900lb bike with my arms above my head was not my cup of tea

Road kings don't come stock with ape hangers, you might have had a different experience on a stock HD, the regular pull back bars are quite comfortable. I really liked the Dyna super glide and my wife did as well. Wish we could have kept both but the opportunity to grab a leftover 13 at a good price presented itself. She is going to get another bike next fall probably something in the dyna family again.
I'm sorry for your loss.

i know its not a stock thing, i still dont feel comfortable on a 900lb bike regardless. but to each his own. thats the beauty because while others are in their 4 wheeled cubicles we get to enjoy the wind in our face, and the gas mileage is deffiently a benefit!!

Aint that the truth. kinda same but more subtle versus a smaller bike

I found out this weekend what she feels like in a drift, board dragging ass end trying to swap with the front and the front sliding round all squiggly like... It was fun and scary at the same time, I treated her like a sport bike or a quick 10 mile run in the twisties once and once only. I was soaked in sweat from trying to toss that pig around and finding the limits of your tires on something that size is scary. Lets just say the guy that tried following me was in slight awe of what that Buddha Loves You looks like coming out of a power slide.
would have been an epic video. speaking of tossing a king around theres a vid of one acting all suzi like. brb with video
