Hi Fellow GSrs,
I took the MSF Experienced Rider class on Saturday. It was a good refresher for some of the basic riding skills and an opportunity to meet some other safety-minded bikers. The GS performed admirably, and it was so much easier to maneuver than some of those Hogs. While the riding position is more comfortable than the Kawi Ninja, the GS doesn't have the sex appeal, nor the flash and noise of the Harley's. In any event, I love being able to throw the GS around with minimal effort. I think it is the perfect starter bike that can grow with you depending upon the mods you throw at it.
Cheers,
Mike

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What I think is Sexy, may not be so sexy to others.
This YouTube video says otherwise:
I stand corrected. This video is now one of my 'favorites.'
I have got nothing but compliments on both of the F models i have owned(even the replacement with cracked front fairing). Even had guys walk over to me when getting on it asking about it etc. The only down side imo is the stock exhaust.
Now i don't really like none fairing GS bikes, but that is just personal and directly my own preference. I know people who love none fairing and hate fairing bikes.
Long story short, i would not call a fairing gs none sexy.. I have to pull people away from the tail pipe all the time (if you don't get it haha)
Lol. That's mister's video. It's a good'n!

It's a UJM anyway you look at it, sexy or not, and the faired model is the most sexy :whisper:
Naked bikes are sexy!
Nakeds all the way, no flash just hottness :woohoo:

Back in the 60's and 70's almost all bikes where naked, today most younger folk like naked bikes because they don't remember the days of only having naked as a choice...I have talked this over with other Old Farts and this is the consensus we have come to :dunno_black:

I really like my non-faired bike until i get on the highway @ 70+mph, then i hate it.
I can see what you mean Stevo and kinda makes sense. Me personally I've always been a hog guy, not so much the rocket type. I love my GS but someday will move onto my dream Harley, I'll probably keep it close by though haha. That's why I like the naked look, plus one scratch on a fairing would piss me off haha.
I like the naked and semi naked look, which is why I like my unfaired GS500 and liked my Bandit. Faired look good but can be expensive in maintenance. Always add on extra labour cost to remove the fairings before you can even begin service. :thumb: Semi naked gives you best the best of both worlds IMO, a good look, lower costs and some protection while riding at highway speeds. :dunno_black:
naked is great for bobbers and choppers or just cruising around town. If your doing any kind of long distance riding or cold weather riding fairing is the only way to go.
I like them naked and believe I can have more flexibility with the add on windshields. Nothing like the big Plexi 2 here in NE Ohio in Jan-Feb for cold protection and it provides some shield for the hands too. But it's like a sailboat on the highways at speed on windy days so I put on a smaller Spitfire for summers. Have found it just right for 400-500 mile Interstate days at 75-80 mph indicated and much less affected by winds. I've been switching them twice a year for 10 years now.
