Title: Is it possible modifier fuel display on aftermarket Digital speedo & tachometer
Post by: joe58 on May 15, 2013, 07:40:32 PM
Hi anyone, I had gs500 2009, just bought a few months on projecting, she had problem with speedo cluster and tachometer was damaged, I replaced with the cheap aftermarket digital, bought off Ebay.
"http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/110904311939?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649"  After installed, took a drive around the house, seem tachometer & speedo worked alright, anyone here, know  how to modifier fuel display on digital tachometer for gs500, if possible, thanks

To get a fuel gauge to work you need some sort of fuel sensor in the tank to tell you the level. Unfortunately the GS does not have one of these. And I can only imagine the electrical/custom fitting nightmare of trying to install one. Use your trip meter like the rest of us  :thumb:

Mmmmm yeah ... Tricky to do an aftermarket fuel float ... Unless some kind of fuel tank swap with another bike that could be made to fit the GS??

... On an alternate unusual idea.... Does anyone think the fuel level bit could be possibly used for a volt display? ... Engine temp? .... Bar graph style of course .... Any other possible reading that might be useful on a GS and that would be workable?

Just thinkin!!  :thumb:
