A local guy has this parts bike and what i want off it is the vance and hines exhaust but he wants to sell the whole thing will I have a tough time selling the rest of parts on here? You get 89's, gauges, blue plastic indicator cap ($25 value!), maybe running engine or part it out.
Worth it. You'll probably make back your $400 before scrapping what's left.
Offer $300 and go up to $500 if you have to.

Yea the motor runs he offered it to me for $400 but i would prefer to not do that if i can.

a running motor too?!! .. for $400... if he asked you for $400 its fairly certain he will negotiate down from that!!

yea Im going to offer him $300 then part it out on here. Want to make sure the exhaust is in good condition is there anything to look for when looking at used exhausts

 :dunno_black: if there is more techy stuff than the following? .... mostly look for pre existing repairs... holes.... and if the engine is running then give it a few revs to see if you can hear any metallic clatter from in the can? ... if the guts are loose then far as i know its shot or at least a PITA to repair   :thumb:

yea the exhaust is rusty and dont have a good feeling about it i asked for VIN and never got it yet seemed sketchy. I think i will buy new but is it worth it or could i drill the exhaust.

Don't forget about the '89 stock clip-ons! Those have to be worth something, right?
