92 GS, just cleaned the carbs. This also involved new seals and new float needles and seats, as well as a new battery.
When everything was buttoned back up I turned the choke all the way on, and she started pretty quickly. Seemed to idle fine, ran for maybe 5 minutes while I got all geared up for a test ride around the neighborhood. However, once the engine was warm it didn't want to run correctly. I could hold the starter for 10 seconds with the choke still on, and it would start again, and run until I turned the choke off, or opened the throttle too quickly. It also didn't want to rev past 6k or so.
I've been skimming the Clymer manual but haven't found anything (yet hopefully). Any ideas?
edit: looks like it could be bad spark plugs... I'll try to pick up some new ones tomorrow
Needle adjustments all back to stock?
What exhaust and air filter? The HiFlo air filter has caused problems compared to a true OEM replacement.
Betting a mixture issue. Check your carb boots are properly seated. Cover your hand over the airbox while she is running and see what she does. Check float height for proper fuel delivery.
