This shaZam! has literally been driving me INSANE at work. I keep hearing the song (they play it via Muzak or whatever the hell they use), and I can never make out any useful lyrics. I've heard it probably 20 times already.
The good thing is it sticks out like an orange safety vest. There's a chorus or refrain in the song that has this really strange singing. The guy's voice (presumably male, could be female, hard to tell) starts going nuts. He's not singing anything that I can tell, but just making random noises. The pitch of his voice goes all over the place, and it sounds really disjointed and chaotic.
It's like he's saying "OOWWWOOOOooohhooohohhhooo... AWWOOOOWWOoOWWoooAAAHHwooowooo" almost like his/her voice is falling down a flight of stairs or something. It's the kind of song where if you heard it playing somewhere you'd go "What the f%$k?" because you wouldn't notice it until that chorus or refrain started playing.
The ONLY part I could make out in the song was "The way you shine" but google was of no help there, considering it's a pretty vastly used phrase (of course).
Please guys...I am going to pull my hair out.
Here's the first thing that comes to mind:
This isn't it - but - you can use this to help remove the offending junk from your mind's autoplay repeat function...
Use this one to remove the junk as well :icon_mrgreen:
If you hear the song use shazam

Believe me if I could I would. That's the problem - I can't have my phone on me at work.
Can you give some examples of other songs you can identify that are played in the same block of music? That might help us narrow down to a genre.
Sounds a little like Grouplove. Also reminds me of Neon Trees. It's newer I think.
I think it's just a random track because I hear stuff like She's So High - Tal Bachman and Apologize - OneRepublic.
This one's pretty 'all over the place' :dunno_black:
Don't know if it's what you're looking for though...
Peter Cusimano - The way you shine

Yeah, but that tells us we're on the wrong track if we're thinking it's a reggae or metal song. :D
Bruno Mars - Treasure
Has a dork-y guy singing similar to how you described (falling down a flight of stairs).
Unfortunately...none of those are close.
If I had to pick a song that closely resembles the overall song, minus the weird chorus I was talking about, it would be Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People
Eh Kij .. did a search for "songs that sound like Pumped up kicks" ... and while i cant really see it in the following... it may give you some leads?
Bummer...still nothing.
Haven't heard it since posting this thread either...fudge.
Techno song or rock song?
I would call it rock-ISH. Problem is that the damn song is so muddled while it's playing. It's significantly quieter than the other songs they play.
So, I can't really get a good listen. All I can hear is that chorus and the guy (might be woman) going "AAAHHH HOOOO WOOO WOOO-WoOOooOO" sounds like he/she stubbed their toe and is singing about it. If you heard it, you'd recognize it immediately.
From what I have been able to hear, the tunes part, it's kind of somewhat of a slow song. Not really super fast paced (cept for the chorus).
It's like a combo of Neon Trees - Animal (voice sounds SOMEWHAT similar, not exact), Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks (again, voice sounds somewhat similar but not exact). The sound of the song also sounds somewhat similar.
I appreciate all your help guys..maybe eventually somebody will know what the hell my dumbass is talking about. LOL
know its not this... but the awwwwoOOOOOooahOOOOOO bit you mentioned... reminded me of it :D
