Title: Bike is catching between gears, or something...

Hey, so I'm thinking this might be due to an older clutch but when I downshift lightly, just right, the bike will seem as if it's in neutral. I'm positive it isn't actually neutral but its as if it's gone between gears. Hopefully someone understands what I mean by that. Ideas?

Sounds normal to me. Just press gear lever harder.
Common problem and is called a false neutral. Sometimes using better quality oil will help to solve this issue. :thumb:

Yep, just a false neutral. My bike likes to do that between 5th and 6th if I'm not being nice to it.

It sounds like a false neutral to me. I have the same thing between third and fourth sometimes. I was told that changing the oil to Rotella 10w40 helps with that and gets rid of the clunk from neutral to first.

Rock the bike - this bike likes to go backwards more than forwards ... so rock it ... a stationary bike means stationary transmission's driven 1/2 ...

yeah my bike always slips into neutral between first and second whether im going up or down just to let me know that i have to pay close attention to her at all times...

mine does it occasionally from first to second and ive found its happens most often when im pulling from my driveway and moving up the main road (theres a large yucky section of road just after i pull out) i usually hesitate going into second, but when i shift strong moving out i have no issues, so ya.... i would say just shift harder up into the gear and you shouldnt have any issues.
