I don't have my bike in my possession currently. Im picking it up Thursday and I'm not sure if it will fit in my bed if my toolbox is back there as well. Anyone know how long the bike is?
82 inches/208cm, according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_GS500).

Toy truck or full size?
Full size. Thanks Ross.
Also, while we're here and the title is appropriate... Does anyone know if the GS500 has the same size exhaust piping as the gsxr600?
Not sure on the last question although I doubt it being the 600 has 4 cyl so it needs to move more air out. But with a full size truck you will have no issues. Just be sure to bring good ratchet straps
I ordered a slip on that's for a gsxr-6. Guess ill just see when it gets here. Idk if a coupler or adapter will work here.
Anything can be fabricated. My exh is fully custom with two Yoshis.
I weld exhaust setups all day. If there's a small amount of wiggle, have a welder tack it in place and hammer the edge down. A good bead will cover the marks and it'll look good. If there's a quarter inch of space just get a flared pipe crime the headers to muffler and do two nice beads. Shouldn't be hard. Let us see it if you have it done.
Yeah, I know it CAN be adapted, but the pipe diameter being different wont lose me power will it? And it won't scavenge? I guess it probably all depends on the difference.
