Title: The Bike Got Some New Toys
Post by: amkluttz on June 15, 2013, 08:29:50 PM
I had to break down finally and get some new maintenance items.

I went with a DID X-Ring chain, Sunstar 17 tooth sprocket, and a JT stock 39 tooth for the rear.  For tires I went with a Bridgestone BT-023 in 150/70-17 for the rear and a Bridgestone Hypersport S20 in 110/70-17 for the front.

I also had to paint the Katana rear wheel and then the GS front rim to match.  I was overly worried about the newly painted wheels.  The guy at the local bike shop said that most likely he would peel the paint off when putting them on but he would try not to.  He did a great job and I didn't have to paint anything.

This was after I bent the brake arm for the first time.  I fixed it later.

A shot from the rear.

With the painted wheels.

I just gotta say, that bike looks great as a "street-fighter" with the plastics removed and the electrical all tucked away.
