Has anyone ever tried to put the stock naked SV650 bikini fairing (aka flyscreen, windscreen, etc.) on to a naked GS? I really like the look of these things on the SV but I'm not sure about it on the GS. I figured it shouldn't be that hard since they were both 7" round headlights. I know the brackets will need to be modified.
I tried searching with no luck.

I like it :thumb:
I've always liked that one.
Don't see any reason you couldn't make it work.
looks like my favorite kind of bikini!! .. big headlights and small amount of cloth.... err fairing! :icon_twisted:

A loose cover over a naked is better yet. Especially if you end up with gratuitous side-boob--er, I mean side light. :D
Do these bug screens really work? I mean, I know they look cool and everything, but do they actually create a blanket affect at all like a reall windscreen?
I'm getting really tired of cleaning bug guts off my helmet after every time I go out.

I have no idea. I just want it to cover up the back of my gauges. If it does anything more than that it will just be an added bonus.

Yes they do create a little flow up and over, but too short to be truly meaningful. Certainly better than nothing.
I bought one awhile back to try. It wont fit around the gauges. The SV650 gauges are slim and digital. The GS has the side by side gauges. It wont sit flush. I know a Ducati Monster fairing can be made to work.
Now that the OP's question is answered I can threadjack ;)
Does anyone know of any that will fit/look good with the dual dominators? All the ones I'm finding all have the round opening for a 7" head light. Not coming up with anything else.
I know there used to be a UK site that sold screens to fit the Dominators. I'll see if I can find it again.

ridiculous... thread jacking can be done at any time!! ;) :icon_rolleyes: :icon_twisted:
I was aware of the dominator specific one, I should have mentioned that sorry. I was hoping for another choice, that one is kinda fugly in my opinion.
I've only ever seen it on bikes with the dominators mounted way up high, maybe it might loko okay on a GS with dominators mounted on the stock naked headlight brackets which are a bit lower.
The Buell XB12 screen looks pretty good. I'm sure some custom brackets would be made to fit. I might start looking into that.

Hmmm... My gauges are side by side but are mounted much lower and out of the stock GS case. Do you still have that fairing laying around somewhere?

Agreed. I had a larger fairing than that and I sold it since it didn't really help. It actually beat my head from side to side a little. Naked is the way to go unless you get a fairing around 18 inches or so.
Just to chime in :P here's a site I look at and used for when I bought and put on my wind shield/windscreen.

I bought an all black replacement windshield for a ducati monster from china off ebay for like $30. Came with all the hardware to mount it at different angles for some wind protection. I just used the holes that were pre drilled instead of the brackets it came with.

It won't matter. The SV650 fairing wraps around the gauges. Since the the GS ones are side by side and to wide it will not work. I still have the fairing yes.

That's what I did. Search "buell flyscreen" and put my username in the author field.
