Title: my post wreck project
Post by: xterrettx on June 20, 2013, 06:22:00 PM
Heres my story,
Last month I purchased a '06 GS F model that i was very excited about. After riding it about 300 miles as deer jumped out while i was doing 55. I laid the bike down. Luckiliy, I walked away with only some road rash. The bike ran but the fairings were f***ed up and the rear end was toast. I am posting pics of what I have done to get it going again while spending as little$ as possible.

What I have done:
New handlebars
New mirror.
put the F headlight on some moded brackets
cut sub frame and fabbed a taillight bracket
cut fender

The F headlight is not working out. I cant get it high enough to keep from hitting the front fender on a medium size bump. Has anyone else experienced this?
I am planning on going to a round headlight.

I see one picture there, any after the damage, before the repair.

Looks clean actually.

the F headlight does hit. Maybesonics would help, but its still probably a problem.

THe F headlight will be sel lable and or trade able for a round one I am sure.

Good work so far, sorry to hear she went down, but glad your ok.
