Hey guys,
Who here has frame slider on their GS500F? I was thinking of getting the ones from T-Rex, the no-cut ones: http://t-rex-racing.com/catalog.php?item=253

R&G. They look good. They are far enough forward to protect the turn signals. I feel the T-Rex aere too high and too far back to do much protection of the front fairing.

Looking sharp :) I was thinking of those, but they're more expensive to get up here in Canada. Also, need to cut fairings to install. Oh, and you need to remove em every time you take off fairing(s). The T-Rex ones are only a couple inches back, so should still offer decent protection.

I have T-Rex on mine. I like them. I haven't tried them out to see how they hold up but the metal plates they come with are very heavy and nice
RG take about 1 minute to remove when you take off the fairings. Not a big deal.
Cutting the hole: also not a big deal.
I waffled between the T-Rex and R&G for a long time. Had I not run across a great deal on the R&Gs I might have T-Rex sliders now.
Cutting the hole is really not that big a deal as Adidasguy said. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

I have the T-Rex sliders and, unfortunately, know that they work (I hate gravel). The right side is about half gone on the bottom, with no damage to the rest of the bike. Though, I have stainless steel bar ends and flush mount signals, so I can't speak for stock signal protection.
My only complaint is that you have to remove the right slider to check the oil. Not that bad, but it does get kind of annoying. And get new Allen bolts from Home Depot if you decide on them. I had one shear off from vibration.
EDIT: I meant the little Allen bolts that connect the cross-bar, not the ones in the spools. Just to clarify.
Couple washers inside the slider spool and you can get that bolt away from the oil cap to check the oil without removing the slider spool.

Exactly. This is how mine is and it works just fine.
Dont forget the blue thread lock!

Or possibly behind the entire spool? It might provide better clearance in case of a low side, too.
