Title: speedometer doesn't work
Post by: Chapaloo on June 23, 2013, 11:47:43 PM
Hey guys,

I just bought my GS500F and noticed that the speedometer doesn't work. got it from a dealer and the dealer has a 7 day warranty. I'm passed the 7 days. Is there any way I could try to fix it myself?

Check the connection at the speedo. It often can work loose. Screw it back in.

Fix it yourself huh.If something is already effed i guess u can't eff it up more.......don't like your chances though.
There are instrument company's that do repairs specifically to guages/instruments,etc,but their getting few & far between thesedays,& i suspect their very expensive.
Contact the dealer & see if he can help in any way,& also check online for new/used spedos.

If it was working before it's probably a loose cable. I had mone work loose during a ride once. Check connection at the engine and coming out the back of the instruments.
