Title: tacho drive
Post by: Brenny on June 24, 2013, 08:36:44 AM
Hi Does anyone know a safe way to remove a seized tacho drive from gs500, the old one is snapped off just at the housing , but is now leaking oil, so I need to get it out. Tks

You can take that fitting off via unscrewing the little 5-6mm head bolt that sits next to the cable to the left as you're looking @ it from the front wheel.

Cool.

Tryed that but the complete drive is seized in the housing, Dont know if its safe to try a drill it out as the housing doesnt look to strong.

Cheers

The part on the left is the complete housing. The gear thing on the right goes inside it.
as B said, remove the one bolt and take out the complete assembly then put in a new one.
