Title: Headlight problem
Post by: BPone on June 27, 2013, 10:07:56 PM
I have a 1990 gs that I'm am putting back together. It starts and runs fine. Every thing seems to be working, tail light included, but the headlight will not come on. The bulb is for sure good. Just not getting power to socket. When I installed wire harness and did a check, the head light worked. Now that its ready to ride no light. Any ideas?

... #1 .. multi meter ... #2wiring diagram... #3 work backwards from bulb to see where the power appears again...

likely ... switches, connectors, pinched/damaged/bent wires ..

its probably not a major issue.... its just a PITA to calmly track through the wires and single out the 'one point' where it went bad ...  :thumb:

My gixxer has that problem periodically. Check out where the left hand control plugs into the main wiring harness on the bike. That's where my issue is, has a bad connection inside it. Fits your symptoms perfectly, and should be real easy to check and rule out
