Title: Pipe for an 02'
Post by: Courtice_GS500 on July 04, 2013, 05:56:44 PM
Hi everyone

Anyone know what best slip on for an 02' is?
There doesn't seem to be to many options other than a Delkevic.

It seems like that's it or a full V and H supersport?

Any opinions or thoughts?

Also Delkevic's website claims that you don't need to rejet which I find hard to believe. Anyone know if that's correct?

If your just doing a slip on, you can pretty much use any pipe that is the same  size as the stock pipes. as for re jet, no need to do that either because its just a slip on, even if your doing a full exhaust, don't really need to re jet. Mainly re jet is for change in air intake.

This is not true. Different exhaust systems will have different scavenging properties, thus changing the volumetric efficiency of the engine. The fuel system will not magically correct for that change all by itself. It is generally known that GS500's run rather lean from the factory. Making them more lean probably isn't a great idea.

Ok. I have no issues with rejetting I was just curious about their claim.

Any ideas where I should start with jets/needles?
