Hi John,

I have been getting this error too - at first I had assumed it may be since my work proxies via Brisbane and then at home it is via Telstra Clear in Wellington.

I have been getting timeouts, dropped pages etc.

Maybe its related to all that stuff we keep hearing about in the news  :police:

Almost looks like the main servers hosting the site are getting some routing issues - possible issues with network provider?

random .. possibly... frequent... certainly!!! ... varies from just a slow loading page .. to a null page .. to the browser quickly giving a 404 or 'the requested url cannot be found please reset/check your internet settings' etc.. however .. its ONLY this site... all other forums and pages i frequent run smooth ...

... i think theres squirrels storing nuts in the international trunk rooms again!!?? .. or 'them' checking up on us .. cos we say bad things .. like .. GUNS ... BOMBS ... TERRORIST ... PRESIDENT ... DECAFFEINATED COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!! ..  ;) :icon_twisted:

maybe some more Banana Grease on the bearings?  :thumb:

My site was moved to a new server. Changed the nameserver info.  They are blaming it on a problem with the server kernel.

I've been getting random page time outs. Some internal server errors.
I had one "Mover to new server" message last night then back to normal.

I am not impressed with cloudlinux.  Since the move it has been slower then when we were on a VPS.

John,

The 4th hop is outside of Wichita Kansas
Tne 5th hop is outside of Wichita Kansas
The 6th hope is in Macon Georgia
The 7th hop is in Omaha Nebraska
The 10th hop is in Wichita Kansas
The 11th hop is in Las Vegas
The 12th is in San Francisco

So from Wichita back to Georgia and back to Wichita before slowly making its way to Frisco. You need to blame the 9th and 8th hop, not the 12th.

Note, at time when I've had problems getting somewhere and did a trace route, I found the signal bounced down to Sydney and then 5000km West to Perth where it stopped. Odd considering the USA is East from my location and when I had a good connection it always bounced through Hawaii and into LA.  So I'd say your 8th and 9th hop is probably a couple of servers at the same host and They had troubles.

IIRC the first is home. 192.168.1.1 used to be able to initiate a DDOS with bothersome trolls on other sites

We are on the new server, and if you hadn't noticed it is way better now.  I have asked to stay on this server and not deal with cloudlinux.  I am sure eventually we will move back after the dust settles.  Sounded like there was a lot of finger pointing between my host and the provider.

It was many days of being told it is fixed, only to later be told "yea, it isn't fixed" again and again.  My tracert seemed to finally convince them to build a couple non-cloudlinux servers to host sites.  For a day previous to my post I begged to get me off those servers and back to what I had before.

I think you are correct, as after sending my trace to my host, and asking what they think about it, I get a note saying we are being moved to a new server being installed (new location too).

hrmmm .. while this is a 'fresh' thread ..

the following thread by weedahoe WONT clear out of the 'recent unread posts' list on my laptop ... ?? no new posting each time i  look but it remains?! ...

http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=64816.0;topicseen

... i dont see it as a major drama ... just with the recent server issues i thought maybe they are still having some hiccups?  :dunno_black:

tried about 8 times over a 10 min period... still there?! ...

its only that one thread too.. gremlins?

.. edit ... oh and it always loads at the first post too .. yes i clicked on the little arrow thingy on the right side to go to last post!! ..

:cookoo:

Maybe its tapacrash err talk idk. mine always loads at first post. been this way since day one. but I think its clientside not serverside IIRC you can set this under preference. ( used to be able to. although have not tried in almost 9 years.

I paid for tapacrash once. for me it didn't work. then found out I was able to paste img urls fine without it. so im assuming they've fixed its early issues. ? am hoping so for its fanboys err customers lol. if it works great Eh?, anyhoo  moving forward. check settings, seriously. might be the issue. now, for the rest in the It dept, is there a way to reroute the track its taking?, I used to know how to obtain a different IP addy. or bounce it off a proxy?, ( did this to bypass IP bans at a racist website.) wondering what the options are. this site FWIW has been run nearly flawlessly for a decade that I can remember. and im grateful. only recently it seems these problems have arisen. and few spambots as well. and MAYBE aDDOS once or twice? quite remarkeable IMHO

oh i'm not really hacking on Tapa ... i just dont use it and even with my phone the inbuilt browser handles the site ok..

its just this one thread ... if it was something in laptop i would have thought all the 'recent unread posts' would keep showing up... not just the one?!?!>..

.. only mentioned it really cos of the recent server gremlins that John so gallantly battled with...

it still doesnt bother me... just a anachronism i noticed?!

The new tapatalk is out now anyway so maybe that's what's causing issues?
I am using the old one not the new one
