Hey,
I needed some help on deciding which bike to buy, I went to check out both of these bikes. I felt like the 2006 one was better taken care of but it also has 18k miles and the 2005 has only around 8K.
Both bikes have been down, the 2005 while it is parked ( what the owner said) i took some pictures of the damages, the main concern that it has actual body damage not only cosmetic the handle bar is bent, the clutch is broken at the end and it has some scratches. The 2006 one has also been down but it only has some cosmetic damage nothing that bad, but i am also concerned that 18k miles is a lot if the bike if not well maintained, it looked clean and i test drove it and it was fine but i am still a little worried.
The 2005 will cost me around 1900(had some deal with the guy) and the 2006 will cost me 2400
I test drove both of them the 2006 was in better condition, i would say, but nothing too noticeable.
What do you guys think?

Is the bar actually bent on the 2005? That just looks like the bar end weight is tweaked. That can be straightened pretty easily without any issues.
It looks like the guy with the 2006 is adding things that shouldn't be in his KBB. Fairing? 2006 only came with a fairing so that would be included in the base. And what Chrome engine guards is he talking about?
Personally, I would go for the 2005 (obviously after riding and it running well). The minor scratches aren't anything to worry about but I would ding them for a discount. And it really looks to me like that's just the bar end weight that's bent. But again, if they don't know better, ding them for a discount on that as well.
Hope this helps.
i vote less mileage,....that other guy talks too much blah blah blah, added this, added that. i was expecting him to say 'i only farted on the seat about three times, nothing major.' Anyways, less mileage, fix minor details,....2005 :thumb:
I'd go for that 05. A new clutch lever is 10 bucks, and the bar end can be straightened. If not, a new pair of bar ends are $20. New handlebars are $25.
Less miles, condition of the 2 bikes looks to be the same, and I'd much rather have a bike that just fell over as opposed to one dropped at speed
Post for 2005 has been deleted.
If you missed out on that one, offer the 2006 dude no more than $2000. He's full of shaZam! anyway....I don't see any chrome engine guards in those pics. Can't add them to the KBB estimate unless they actually exist....i'm just sayin'. And, if he's "throwing in the gear for free" why bother mentioning how much he paid for the gear?
Wow ... The 2006 post .... It's like I wrote it!! :icon_rolleyes: ... Still ... If you like the bike .... Drive hard to lower the price though!!!! :thumb:
