Title: RIDING OVER SPRINGBROOK HILL
Post by: codajastal on July 14, 2013, 01:11:22 AM
Just thought I would throw this up for your viewing pleasure.
I took a little ride over Springbrook today and recorded it with the GoPro on the front fork brace.
No music or any of that shite, just sounds of the bike etc :thumb:
Hope you enjoy it and feel free to subscribe to my channel and watch my other crappy videos.

Sounds like you're getting a little fixture vibration. Did you use the nose plug when you clipped the camera in?

There's an intermittent rattling noise in the video, probably caused by vibration somewhere in the mount. That white silicon thing that came with your camera (looks like a nose plug) is made to get rid of that vibration and noise.

GoPro doesn't do a great job of explaining it...in fact last I checked, they don't mention it at all in the included literature.

Cool video though, I'll have to give that view a shot sometime.

one of those things eh....

its there... and surely there/included for a purpose!!... but odd looking .. and with no clear mention of usage in manual.... lol ... i call FAIL on the part of GoPro for not mentioning it!!  ;)

come to think of it.... they would have had to design that widget specifically to damp the vibrations... you dont just think up random add on  bits like that!! ... so they knew the issue existed... 'corrected' it with the noseplug widget ... and not mentioned it really ... maybe a 'lost in translation' moment!  ;) :D

Well, when there's a sliding lock, there will be vibration. GoPro probably recognized that early on and figured out the fix. Now they just need to address the problem of not being able to use the nose plug with the J-hook buckle. I have a J-hook, but I'll only ever use it with an external mic and video stabilization for that very reason.

I've gotta pull my finger out... got some fun footage riding through the clouds up Bellthorpe Range Rd the other week, then have some fun footage of Saturday's ride in the sun while I'm having a serious love in with the Sport Demons...
