well i posted all the stuff on new tire ect. and i ended up buying a bt45 and had it mounted at a shop and i put it on this morning and i havent really got to ride it yet. just a few short trips. but come this weekend i might have to venture out. (laugh like a mad man) watch out roads :guns:
how long does it require to scrub off the 'wax'
Quote from: Frosthow long does it require to scrub off the 'wax'
In my opinion only about 25 to 50 miles. I progressively lean the bike farther as I go. Starting out easy at first.
well i got a bucket of hot water and put dawn dish soap in it and scrubbed the tire with a scrub brush. i dont know if it really did anything but it makes me feel better
Fine grit sandpaper.
hey mes....
what made you choose the bt45 over the metz?
and did you get them in stock size?
i chose the bt45s over the mezt's because about a week ago or so someposted about the bt45's being the best out there. there were alot of people who agreed saying it helped there riding. so i thought i give it a shot. but no there not stock size. there 140/70, i was going to opt for the 150/70 but i heard about some recent horror stories :(
Why doesn't anybody put on the stock size? A 130 width tire really is fine.
i always believed that stock size is the best for a stock GS...
but it's a matter of opinion i guess...
but just to bug everyone again...
what are the disadvantages of getting a bigger size tire????

About 3-4
good turns per side works for me :thumb:
Stock looks fagity. I like how mine looks now with way bigger.

Sounds like he is trying to compensate for something. Hum? What could that be?

What do you mean? The BT45s are one of the few tires that come in stock sizes for the GS. The Metzelers Z2 only comes in 130/80 or wider, but Me550 and BT45s comes in 130/70.
So, if I get SMALLER tires, will people think.........nah :P
I've got BT45s in stock sizes and love 'em....when there's not a foot of snow on the ground anyway. :(

I saved $12 by getting an 140/80 rear versus the stock 130/70. I am frugal, what can I say.

Sounds like "cheap Bastard" would be a more appropriate title ;)
I like it :thumb: Gimme, Gimme,Gimme,Gimme  .
Now that I have asked for it there is no way I will get it. :?
John likes to take cracks at me. I find it priceless.
The rear tire isnt what I use to sompensate, I use the ZX9R I picked up, and the redneck car. Those are better for compensation. If they still fail, I drink, heavily.
