Title: Donation for the twin. ( my way of saying thanks )
Post by: yamahonkawazuki on July 16, 2013, 08:12:58 PM
I purchased my first gs a 1997 in 2003 was able to repair the damage to it via gstwins resources and information shortly after joining in jun of '03. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO heres my plan.
As a watchmaker ( self taught)  by trade, I am going to conceive an idea, and build a chronograph ( watch) with a coin face using a manx motorcycle themed coin, and putit up for sale. as funds will allow between medical issues lol. will post it here and on ebay, watchuseek, NAWCC and other locations. ALL of its proceeds will be directed to the powers that be here. my name as builder will be inscribed onto the case lid on back side. its new owner if they desire will be there as well. between medical problems this site has helped me mentally cope :(. I want to say thanks in a semi permanent way. If its buyer is a member here, their name will be given credit here ( name has given x amount us to gstwin as a gift. as an update to this thread. all parts will be new thought about using gstwin.com as a face but if buyer is outside of the community will kill its value. movement im thinking will be either 17 or 21 jewel. stay tuned friends :)

these are Somali dollar coins. each being about 2" long. thought about the colouring, seems like it may be gaudy. ahh well back to drawing board.  searching for a manx crown. with the motorcycle image on one side and her majesty on the obverse. this one I want. for the face. id be griding HRM off the side. nearly 3/4 so  the ovt wont have clearance issues

Lookin good with this Yama ....  You do take all your costs out of the sale and put the profit to the board yeah? Don't know about others views ... But I see it as your time and workmanship on putting all this together is plenty of dedication and thanks? ..  dollars from profit above costs are cream on top!

I may sell the goped. take part of that, and get a low end sport goped, ( ala return to beginning from top) so illhave a ped still. anyhoo I plan on paying costs out of pocket. all of what it brings in goes to site

(http://www.tztoolshop.com/images/dbp220-1.jpg) Hmmm 135ish to my door. I want. lol. found this at timezone schools tool kit list. I have a jewelers desk which was given to me, another one at house. both however are the size of oak secretaries. this I like cause it can be moved. or I can rig handles and transport tools, parts, and work in progress using a tow ped ( trailer made for gopeds. to and from shop.

your call brother! .. far be for me to place a value on others peace of mind ..

still think its a great and noble plan though!! .. just hate to see you financially castigate yourself by losing loved goped etc ..  :o

... with enough of the right kind of promotion pre-sale/auction it could bring a pretty penny though... hmmm  :thumb:

Got to thinking. which could bring more in here. the watch HAS the potential, BUT id have to go upper tier to get upper dollars for site.  OR could build a goped and sell it. much broader group of customers. thoughts? before I start assembling parts? ( assembling= stockpiling) either way parts will be new. if watch, movt and case will be new, if goped, depending on model, frame and engine.  and wheels/tires
