Here's the quickie answer: check out the GS500E-specific page on MAW (http://www.mawonline.com/XGS500E.HTM).  The EBC list includes the appropriate Kevlar, "Green" and Sintered pads for the front and Kevlar or Sintered pads for the rear.

The #FA... and #RFA... numbers are the original EBC part numbers, so you should be able to use them to compare prices from other catalogs as well.  For example, searching for "FA63" on the Chaparral Motorsports (http://www.chaparral-racing.com) site yields the (currently out-of-stock) part number 361-1630 (http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Chaparral/productr.asp?pf%5Fid=361%2D1630&gift=False&HSLB=False&mscssid=06B4D8D43CEAB4A808DB34F920ABCB17) for $19.99

Make sure you get the 89-95 pads for the front because the front caliper and brake pads changed in '96.

Easy job. Just make sure you have good tubing.
