Title: looking for 89-00' carburetors
Post by: Al0160569 on August 16, 2013, 07:25:30 PM
I am in need of the earlier E style (89-2000) carburetors, either stock jetting or rejetted for a pipe and filter. The housing on my left carb broke so all I technically need is just that carb body, but the more I can get the better, and the better shape they are in the better, but I can still work with some old units.

Thanks guys,

Bump, still looking, most sets I have seen are going for about $150-$200, depending on condition. The only ones I have been able to find so far are a set being auctioned on eBay and I'm hopping to get a set sooner than that.

Shipping would be to springfield, mo

I have a set...but the air fuel screws are hacked seized unable to get out for an amateur and the brass tube is snapped one side. See my build if ur interested. Im in Australia so postage might be an issue but see what you think.

Hum, that brass tube is snapped on the carb, I don't technically need, and I might be able to make something between that set and mine. If it wasn't for shipping between Australia and the u.s., I would jump on it, let me see if another set turns up a little closer, if not, I'll let you know.

I have a set from an 89. The only thing is that there's a bolt in the right carb bottom where "I think" a vent tube should be.. The left looks perfect though and everything else is there. Drop me an email if interested markk1027@verizon.net  Ed

This is basically the problem I've ran into, the bike has been sitting since '06 and the carbs had all sorts of gunk in them. Both needle jets were completely clogged. The right side slid out fairly easily with a little bit of effort, but the left was seized up pretty good and refused to budge, which ultimately led to the brittle casting breaking around it.... certainly not my happiest moment.

Yeah, that's somewhat biased I suppose though, that's about what prices are for the newer carbs on ebay.

Looks like I have found a set, thank you EdE!
