USPS Flat Rate would be about $25 to AU

Tearing into the carbs is really easy. Understanding why and how they work can be tricky

Any seller whose name begins with the word "weed" and ends with "Hoe" obviously has the planets lined up in his favor ... who is the buddha when the planets approve ... or is that plants ...  :icon_mrgreen:

Cool.

noted lads... i have a vague concept floating around in my head... i dont mind helping people out ... if everyone can be honest .. and also seeing as any one person can only tune a set of carbs so many times.... plus .. im gonna be only just figuring out the info myself... so it could happen that i dont know/recognise enough to get the right info to you!?

it could come unstuck .. but ... i can send it around the country .. when needed .. to known and trusted GSTwins members .. you need it .. you pay postage .... next person needs it... they pay postage ... or you return it to me when done .. or .... i'll send it to someone i trust in your area and you go look at info from them direct?! ..

Kerry in the U.S. had a shim kit that worked on the honor system.. users topped up the shims with others they had and sent it on etc .. quite a while back.... which IIRC has now gone missing...  :icon_sad:

just im thinking overall ... sure i can look up info ... and relay it... but sometimes its easier to just have the info in front of you... plus theres always the 'lost in translation' factor ..

i dunno the perception of users here ... everyone pretty much seems honest .. i wouldnt be sending it to a 'new and unknown' person who thought they were gonna be a clever bastard!  :icon_rolleyes: ... but they could have info relayed to them still ..

end of the day... im glad to have the book and slide coming to 'we aussies' ... if it went missing i would be pissed .. no doubt about that .. but its not gonna ruin my life .. i dont want to scan or photocopy stuff out of it and email... copyright to start with .. but i figure paying for postage to start with might help people value what is being shared a little more..

thoughts? ... yea or nay? .. can we work together?

Why not photocopy the pages (if there aren't too many!) and then put them in a binder or something, that way that can be sent around and the real book never goes missing?

99% of GS owners don't have Mikunu RSs on their GS.

Cool.

Yea. Stock GS carbs are vacuum slides (BSTs/CV). Those carbs are operated directly by your hand. AKA REAL carbs.

Cool.

I believe the model designation is BS32VSS?

Regardless, more knowledge never hurt anybody. And Janx : you can run Mikuni VM32's pretty easily on a GS500. Jetting info is around on the internet for them for use on a 500cc parallel twin, and they are VERY easy to work on in general.

Kind of a moot point at the moment, but it could be a fun experiment......
