Title: Best handling bike you've ridden??.
Post by: NortwestRider on August 24, 2013, 04:40:41 PM
I got to thinking about this today and of all the bikes I've owned ( about 40+ ) my wifes GS500 ( Dora ) is by far the best handling bike.

My '10 Ninja 250 made my '07 GS500F look like a Weak Pimp as far as tip in and cornering.

It's kind of funny, I don't see the Kawa 600/1000's anywhere, but the 250 are all over the place.  They have more style than any comparably priced bike.

The Ninja 300 is where the money is, with EFI and 39 HP  :dunno_black:

Yeah..I'm 6" the WEE! is a mid sized bike on a full sized frame, the ergo's work well for me, the 19" front wheel is a great gyro for stability, the power band is totally linear. and the tank is big  :thumb:

Depending on how you define handling......the DL is a great road bike and loves long distances  :dunno_black:

I haven't ridden a lot of bikes, so my answer is Aprilia AF1 Sport Pro.

I like what the Ikons front/rear did for my 450, but best handling so far is an Ohlin's equipped Katana 1100 with BST carbon wheels and lots of other work which I had a short ride on... around 100hp from memory on the dyno run and it was smooth as silk...

Biased I know but I took a k1300r for a spin a few times and fark me the way it corners and squats was like nothing else. The damping was exquisite. Plus the ability to set the suspension on the fly just blew me away.

I want to pick up a little Ninja 250 or another GS500, but an F this time. Miss the tiny bike handling characteristics! That being said, best handling bike I've ever ridden is my '94 GSXR750. LOVE this bike!

I am also @ 40+ but not 40+ models, its about 20 models, and no ninja 250 and VTR250 dont make that list, ridden em both for a few miles.
My fave is the 88 Honda hawk that was fitted with a Fox shock rear and a lindemann modded front. That was what prompted me to do lindemann for my first GS. That GS takes a close second. The all stock bike that I would say rates up there was the 2001 SV650 I owned a few months in 2006.
Quite a few stock GS'es make the second spot on all stock bikes. 89's almost all without exception. Or atleast 89 clip on's.
Cool.
Buddha.

this was a great handling ride!  cup of coffee in one hand and taking corners with ease!

my white f3 though was prob the best handling bike I've had.  Not sure what the difference was over pita but it was a great ride, stuck in the corners and was fun.

Street Triple R. Impressive bike.

^^This. Very well balanced machine. And the sound of the aftermarket Arrows gave the impression you had a V12 between your legs.

Yup, yup... effortless side to side transitions, great sitting position, sweet motor. Feels like you can lean it forever.

Well I have to put a plug for my FJR!  Piles of power and torque and just smooth as silk!  Handles Incredible for a big heavy tourer!
