Has anyone cut the top 3/4" of the rubber on the footpegs off just leaving the rubber around the rest of the footpeg? I was thinking of trying this to lower the peg height a little, looking for advice or suggestions. Wondering if I would get vibration by removing some of the rubber. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Don't think it would work very well.....cosmetic disaster.
I transferred the rear pegs to the front & bent the gear lever down 10mm.Currently i'm waiting on 2nd hand replacement rear pegs from Ebay.

... bent the gear lever ...
I mean not to criticize, but the shift lever is adjustable... I believe it's a 10mm socket on the bottom.
As far as pegs go, you could probably just grab GSXR pegs and put them on the stock mounts. They're smaller and would most likely look better than cutting the stock pegs. I have full rearsets on mine (metal pegs) and I don't notice any excessive vibration.

I tried lowering it a single notch but that was WAY too far(approx 40mm) so i put it in the vice(minus the rubber of-course),heated it up with Burnzomatic Map gas & bent it.......bent rather easily. :)
Ah. Okay. I got kind of confused there for a minute lol.
I've been tossing around the idea of setting up my CNC lathes/mills to run a batch of footpegs since we can't get any for the GS....any advice? I was thinking of using 316 Stainless Steel as that stuff is sooooo pretty when you put a good finish/a touch of polish on it. It is wayyyy heavier than 6061 Alum or 7075 Alum which can get pretty shiny or anodized to any color....
I spose if there is some interest I could start experimenting this weekend while we are doing the labor day thing.
I actually doing that for mine right now. Already spin the blank in the lathe, and going to be milling some profiles into it for my foot. Nothing special, and will only lower it about 1/2" but I'm really just doing it for cosmetics. I'm sticking with aluminum since I am going to have it coated.

I'm curious to see the result
Ooh a competition?! ;)
if i cut off the block that holds the pin in for the peg and cuz the rest of the peg off can i pretty much just weld whatever footpeg on there i want?
Challenge accepted! :D
(They told us people with that attitude should think twice about motorcycling in my MSF course... :icon_twisted: )
