so my 97 has ripped and very brittle rubber around the gauges is this the correct part and number? cuz im not sure. i have to replace the gauge pods and the metal bracket as well due to a crash i had. im just getting my parts list going here for winter and this is on the list.

Those are them. I buy them a lot to replace on old gauges.
Check your local dealer. Maybe they are a few cents more expensive buy you don't pay shipping.
and they are the same 1989-2009 so don''t let anyone say you can't get them for a 1997. Often I buy 2009 parts because they are (for some reason) usually more available even when it is the same part.

And use a non hardening glue on them ... no super glue. They dont go anywhere if they are installed right and everything else is nice and round ...

Silly-cone adds a lot of volume ... so like ... dont like Heidi Montag it. Very little ... I use gasket maker 3m or permatex makes good ones.

They dont need any glue. It seals out moisture better with glue and well, you;d be wiggling and fiddling with it, its better it has something to hold it there.

I just replaced mine, the same one fits both gauges. No glue was needed for mine
