Hi all!
Been reading this board for ages but now I have a question. I've got a 2005 F which I am in the processes of restoring/rebuilding, currently I'm up to the stage where I've finished painting all the bits and bobs. But here's my issue I've got all these cable brackets, mounts but buggered if i can remember what goes where (my camera with the before pics has gone missing).
So lets play a game ... Can you name which bits they are and where they go! :D Be great if you could look at the pic and see if we can all put my bike together!

Ok .. Gimme a few mins .. Unless someone else drops in
A . Top middle, side fairing plate/mounts
B. bottom rear, side fairing plate/mount .. Side of frame below gearbox right side
D . Left fork leg at bottom of triple .. Speedo cable top guide
E . Top front ,side fairing plate/mount close to front of tank
F. Speedo cable lower guide, bottom of left fork leg
G. Speedo cable guide, middle of left fork leg
H. Brake line clamp mount? .. Bottom of triple .. Right side
I. Bottom rear, side fairing plate/mount .. Under frame below gearbox left side
J. Oil cooler support arm ?? .. Under it and down to frame
K. Side fairing , front edge mount .. Oil cooler clamp combo left side
L. Front brake hose clamp .. On fork leg right side . ( u piece at top near wiper)
C I'm definitely stuck on ... Can't recall fiddling with them and can't see where on bike ... It's night and I'm laying on concrete with a torch! :thumb: ..I think you have A and E back to front.. The long ones definitely in the middle spot!
And thanks for posting the ident!!! .. I just found that the middle front of my valve cover gasket is leaking ... Wouldn't have noticed it if I wasn't looking just now .. :thumb: :D
awesome thanks man, that'll be a big help!
edit: worked out C it clamps the oil hose in K, fits over the U bit. :)
C attaches the oil cooler hoses to the frame. Bolts on with the forward, lower, under fairing brackets. #15 on the diagram:

So anyway it's done :D Doesn't run properly yet, it did for a bit but now it won't start. I'll sort that out tomorrow.
Woohoo for shiney purple.

You really really really like red and purple glittery paint huh.
Cos if you ask me, the black frame, blue and white was killer.
In fact they should make it in all blue, which they never did.
01-02 they made a blue tank but a white tail.
Swapping that tail with the blue looks great.
Cool.
Buddha.
I like it cause its unique :thumb:
I'm not a fan of the blue everything is blue these days. Bike kinda looks like a christmas tree though. :D
My dad was helping with the carbs today, heres something fun to note. If you're lifting your newly painted tank to turn the petcock off make sure the handle bars are straight. He manage to put a nice big scratch on it  from the throttle cable adjuster knob.
So I stuck a waterproof bandaid over the scratch.
In other news it's going now yippee, but I have a question. On hard acceleration the engine revs/races high but doesn't accelerate. then the revs drop back down and it starts to go. Clutch cable adjustment? or am I barking up the wrong tree? I'm tired of adjusting and testing, sweating my butt off outside cause it's stinking hot.
Just need to do a three point clutch adjustment (Handle, above side cover, and side cover itself). This will fix your clutch slippage when you want to go fast haha
thanks man thought it was something like that just wasn't sure, I really can't be bothered going out in to the heat again today to fix it so maybe i'll do sometime in the next few days.
Bike handles great now with new front and rear springs.
Not sure if i like the 15 tooth front sprocket though so I might swap it back out but i'll see how I go. got a 16T and a 14T cause I wanted to play.
The koso gauge isn't as fun as i'd imagined, it works fine though. One thing that is annoying about it is it changes colour when you flick your high beams :/. Still need to make a proper metal bracket for it to replace my temporary plywood one ;).
Weather cooled off and I fixed it, goes fine now :)
