Hey guys, I'm back needing more advice.
My bike was having trouble starting which turned out to just be the battery(Battery tender fixed it mostly, but I still really need to get a new battery). Anyway, while riding for about 10~ minutes my bike will start to cut out/buck. I'll lose all power for a few seconds, and then it will come back. After about a minute of this it will die completely. It also wont start again unless I put it into prime with the choke on. (Not sure if it has to do with the battery or not)
I checked my spark plugs, and they were completely messed up so I went ahead and put some new ones in. However I'm still experiencing the same problem, I looked around some online, and got a suggestion that I might need to replace my air filter. Any merit to this? Any other ideas of what could be causing it?
Thanks in advance for any insight.
PS: Suggestions on a good battery brand?
If prime solves the problem i would think starving of fuel, or a vaccume issue with the tank, take it for a spin and when it cuts out open the tank and see if that resolves the issue. If it dose not check your lines and your float levels.
I have a bike master gel battery that seams to hold up great!
is fuel tank full? since being gravity fed, even if it appears to have a quarter tank it will sometimes act like shes out of fuel :)
It may also be worthwhile to check your tank vents. That can cause fuel starvation as well.
