Last week I traded in my 2007 Kawasaki Ninja 250R (old style) on a 2009 GS500F with 2678 miles. I was quite happy with the smoother shifting and higher speed (and the engine wasn't screaming like the 250) however I found it weak on acceleration and the power band only really went up to ~6K RPM. Thanks to the GStwins wiki I re-jetted the carbs and now she really packs some punch (just needs a little fine tuning) and pulls hard all the way up to the red line :)
Nice! I went to school at WVU in morgantown. The only transportation I had for a while was a honda 250. I rode it up until the roads were completely covered in ice and snow. I don't envy riding in that weather again. :woohoo:
Welcome - good to see another WV'er here. I'm near the OH/WV border
I just bought my first bike, a 96 GS500e a month ago. Riding it through the hills of WV is amazing, so beautiful.
BURRRRRRRR!!!!
BURRRRRRRR!!!!
Welcome! I'm up in WV at Snowshoe shredding every weekend during the winters.
We are planning a ride from Radford(southwest VA) to Snowshoe, WV with a pit stop at my friends in Lewisburg. Maybe we can coordinate a GS meetup along the way?

You're not riding the GSs in this weather to do the shredding?

Not yet, definitely a bit too chilly to trek that far. Hoping to get a weekend with warm enough temps before the season's out though. Would be fun to ride the twisties up there, board all weekend, then moto home
