Well, I wouldn't want to take those tyres on the tarmac...

Spelling is important, when I clicked I was expecting to see an R1 riding around a porch; not to see one racing a Porsche.
That said; not a fair race since the GT3 didn't even have studded tires, probably just really good winter tires.
... and the crowd goes 'oooooooooooooooohhhhh' .... :icon_eek: ;)
grammar police :police: AND defending a cage against a bike!! :icon_rolleyes: :nono: ...
to the naughty corner that boy!! ;) :D :flipoff:
there is a longer version of that vid .. you see the R1 have a little drop and slide in a corner...
plus .. you dont think that just maybe they have edited it to look really close ??
i think the cars do have spiked tyres? .. but bike spikes show up a hell of a lot more? :dunno_black:
Just saying, from the title I was expecting something different.
I'll admit I am a Porsche fanboy ;) but I also like sport bikes :thumb:
If you look at 0:44, the GT3 clearly did not have studded tires; though they certainly make studded and spiked snow tires. So not only does the R6 have the power/weight advantage but also the grip advantage. Let's see how it would turn out if the GT3 had spiked tires as well.
But you're right, it was probably edited to have more separation :tongue2:
only porsche ive owned was a waterboxer. well two of them. a 924 and a 928, that bike had it made with th epower to weight ratio. a superbike has really only 1 car with similar power to weight. an F1 car.

The R1 whooped the GT3 in a "race" which required probably a couple dozen takes. Pretty sure that's called exhibition. Awesome video, nonetheless.
