I know I know I keep asking you guys how to lower my bike... (Girl never listens what man says...)
I need to lower my GS and need to know where to get lowering links for it. also what other shocks will fit it that may lower it? Possibly a hayabusa, or one of the gsxr shocks? I think I need to lower it anywhere from 1-3 inches so all the help u guys can give me would be appreciated.

Unfortunately the lowering links might be a do-it-yourself item :( don't go too low, cause you don't want to mess up the bike geometry. As for a shorter shock, I don't think you can mod the shock to be shorter (since the GS requires a long clevise bracket thing, shortening it won't work)

I think there's something about lowering with shocks on my site-might be a bandit or a RF900 shock that lowers the bike. Have you considered cutting away the seat fill to reach the ground instead of lowering the bike (and affecting the handling)?
John, the site admin also did this ( I think). He used plain steel flat bar, clamped two peices together and drilled new holes for shock linkage. He also had a ratio for how far apart to drill the holes and how much lowering that produced...it was not a 1:1 ratio.

Check out Dana's post about halfway down the thread. He actually did this mod, and has a link to a picture of the finished job. He also mentions a URL for the guy that helped him out somehow.

I already cut the seat pad/fill (whatever called)... and still TOO TALL for me....

I used them for my gf's ninja 250. It replaces the stock dogbones with adjustable ones. You can lower as much as you like. they recommend you also lower the front to maintain the stock handling characteristics by moving the forks up in the triple clamps.
2 ways to lower it...
Dog bones is one way... and longer is lower, about 1 to 5, I mean a fifth of a inch longer will give you a 1 inch lower at the seat.
The other option is a shorter shock... a VTR 250 and ninja 250 (both have the same unit I think) have great shorties and I have sold a couple in the last year to 2 folks on this list... and they loved it. Well maybe they loved the effect it had, they were both men and were buying it for their wifes.. so anyway that will be a good option. Its like a shock upgrade and a shortie.
