Title: Tail Light Wires
Post by: JAS6377 on September 26, 2013, 08:16:43 PM
Howdy, all. I just got myself an integrated tail light for my 2004F, which is all kinds of awesome. However, it does not have a license plate light, which is mandatory here in PA. So, I also got myself a set of license plate tag bolt lights.

This leads me to my question: which of these wires is the running light?

( :whisper: It's not the black ground wire...  :thumb:)

Thanks!

EDIT: "Well, Jason, if you had a volt meter you could easily test this."
"That's a brilliant idea!"

So, 10 minutes later, after my moment of stupidity passes, it's the brown one.  :cookoo:

Thanks everyone for your help.

Ground is black/white.
Running light is brown.

Sorry - I didn't see you figured it out. I was out helping some friends in the Bike Cave and now came in to catch up on the board.

It's all good. At least I can be extremely sure now that I'll be working with the correct wire.

the other hot wire would have worked...only when lever preseed. i HAVE seen people do this. myself included.
