:icon_eek: ... hooly dooly! .. too wide and lowsided .... and just! missed the end of the armco too eh? ... lucky boy to not be seriously messed up physically!! :icon_eek:
I was about to ask where the explosion was answering then there it was!
hmmm yup ;) .. was watching them stand 'fairly close' to a burning bike .. even without the title i would expect the fuel tank to let go at some point ... :cookoo: ... then poff-bom! .. and THEN they all move a few steps further away ...
atgatt is good an' all... but no way i be that close to a burning vehicle (unless someone was trapped) ... burning fuel droplets flying out like a grenade onto clothing as a possibility?! ... atgatt = can still catch fire! :icon_neutral:
oye

I reckon it was actually the ruts in the road from roadworks. They seem to resuface only bits and pieces of that road instead of entire sections. You can see what I am talking about at 0:22. I have been caught out by them. You set yourself up for a corner and hit them and its like they steer your bike for you. The speed he was going would make it worse, especially if you panic.
they were looking for water at first. at first the fire was smalling, they MIGHT have been able to well, urinate on it. but with a fuel leak, i dont think it would have worked for long if at all
Where is that crash and burn location?
Around Brisbane
It looks like Mt Glorious road over the Wivenhoe Dam side

personally ..low volume water on a fuel fire?!!!! :nono: .... i woulda been scratching up handfuls of dirt and flinging them at the flames ... it works!!! .. been there done that on a moderate car wreck (not my car) .. that punctured the tank... could hear the zzzzzzzziiiippp ... zzzzzzzziiiippp ... zzzzzziiiiippp of the burning droplets .. get the flames OUT .. then cool the area with water if available...
that little bottle not enough water to make a danger ... but you use enough to make a puddle.. and the fuel drips down onto the water and flames up... then you have a increased active flame area! ... only safe option with water is to deluge the area and just drown it out completely ... :thumb:
Posted a vid of some footage I found on my Go Pro from the weekend of me riding past the crash site. You can see the huge rut in the road which I think contributed to this guy coming off at speed. And further on the left the burnt grass and trees.

true. tbh prolly not enough piss to deal with it. sucks to see a persons bike go up like that. ive witnessed a few at the dragon.
Insurance will cover that. You are a fool if you ride with out it.
