Title: 3 years of work comes crumbling down...
Post by: JamesG on January 23, 2004, 05:52:37 AM
sigh...

Peeled the master for my race upper off a frame that is on its way to a better life.  Tried to get it off in one peice, but after the first cracks it was too late.

:o Ed Roth could fix it! Actually i read that at an auto show one time the frame failed on his fiberglass "air car" and it's propellor went shooting in to the crowd, producing several injuries. Sorry to see hard work for naught.

No its served its purpose. I still have the molds from it.  But it was just tough to tear up something I must have put a thousand hours into...

That sucks man.  :x I remember in High School, I made this weird ceramic foot. I had the base glaze done and was putting on the china paint on top of that when the thing busted in three peices. I started kiking chairs and being all dramatic. It looks like you handled your loss with a lot more maturity than me. Now, I try to be all intelectual and learn from what I did wrong but it does help to kick a gabage can or punch a pillow. :guns:
Thanks for the pics :) Those are some big molds  :o

polystyrene foam for the most part, and about a zillion layers of epoxy, plaster, bondo, and paint.

I'll probably keep the peieces. Putting it back together would still be easier than re-doing it from scratch again.
