Title: Weird symptoms after tipping bike over in the parking lot
Post by: chsonnu on October 02, 2013, 08:11:29 AM
I grabbed the brake too hard while moving the bike in the parking lot and it tipped over.  It was a light fall so I made nothing of it.  The next day I started up the bike and it stalled when I gave it a little throttle, but didn't when I gave a lot.  This suggested to me that there wasn't enough gas in the float bowls for the pilot jets so I set the petcock to PRI, but that made no difference.  Did the fall screw up the float bowl levels?  They seemed pretty sturdy last time I took the carb apart.  One last weird thing is that giving a little throttle when the bike is warmed for 10 minutes doesn't cause it to stall.  Craziness!

You disturbed the crap @ the bottom of the tank ... and its now in the carb ?
You disturbed the crap in the carb and that is now in the jet ?
You spilled fuel and soaked the air filter ?
You sent the oil through the vent into the air filter ?

Take your pic, most of them involve disturbing crap that will end up elsewhere.

Cool.

Hey Buddha, didn't think to check the air filter.  Will do later today, thanks!
