Hi Guys. Got a problem with my shifter. I had a minor fall a while ago (lost the back wheel at 20 kmh round a corner in the wet, laid it over on its right side), and since then its been somewhat difficult to down shift occasionally. Thats the wierd thing, its not a regular occurence. Usually if I've been cruising for a while on one gear then go to down shift, it feels like its stuck, but when I try again, it clunks out of gear. its a little sticky on normal gear changes but its the down shifting thats really sticky. Any ideas what might be causing this? and how I can go about fixing it? Thanks in advance for any advice.
How's your oil look?
I would change the oil first.

+1 more... i was getting that almost exactly... fresh new oil change and after maybe 1km of riding it went back silky smooth ... well it was a bit better right away but after 1km was great!!
the oils not too bad. little dark. was gonna give it a service soon, so I'll do that and report back and see what difference it makes.
youd be surprised what minor services can accomplish :)
Hey guys, Better late than never for the reply. Gave the beast a good oil drain, then flushed it out with fresh oil and ran it a bit. Then drained it again and refilled with beautiful fresh fully synthetic, and all the problems have gone. Shifting is add smooth as a freshly shaven haven again. Lovely, LOVELY thing, this..

:icon_mrgreen: Niiiice!!! .. nothing like being that smooth!! .. now while you are shifting the shaven haven substitute... dont forget to keep a firm grip on your clutch lever! ... solid and smooth strokes should get you there like a champion! ;) :icon_twisted:
