Title: Front suspension squeaking after upgrading springs
Post by: 0Bw4n on October 12, 2013, 02:32:59 PM
My front suspension is squeaking after upgrading to 0.80 racetech springs. Is this normal for new springs? I swapped out the oil as well. The new oil was clear - so it made it VERY hard to accurately gauge the oil level via coat hangar dipstick. I'm wondering if I don't have enough oil in the tubes.

I haven't taken her for a ride yet, due to squeak and waiting on a new front brake switch - just sat on her and bounced up and down to see how the suspension would respond, which is when I noticed the squeak.

Dunno about Racetech but my Sonic springs did that after first install.....as soon as i started riding around it went away.

Yeah, you just need to ride it over some bumps so the fork oil gets splashed up there.

Turkey baster method is easier and more accurate than the dipstick one IMO.
