Yo.
I used to kick it here quite a bit, but haven't poasted much since 2006ish? I think most of my comrades are long gone, but Buddha and Yamahonkawazuki (er however it's spelled) are still here! I've gotten married, had two kids, got in to sports cars, trucks, bicycles, and got a good job several states over from where I was. Through all of this, the faithful GS has followed.
I bought another bike, which was awesome but needed to be sold for cash flow purposes many years ago. The GS hasn't ran since 2008 when I pulled the carbs for "a quick rejet".
Recently, I decided to sell my GS to free up money for parts for my 4x4. I'm halfway through referb'ing the ole GS and now I can't stomach the thought of selling! I've been having fun and remembering what a fun bike it was. It's been sitting under a cover in a garage for 5 years and it only has 5500 miles on it, so it's still a brand new bike, essentially. Can't wait to get it running!
Anyway, just wanted to share my love for the lil' GS. The GS was my first bike and, at the moment, I don't foresee it going anywhere...
Old picture (2006!) with it's long lost buddy.

I remember when you bought that thing. lol. btw if I type in Türd it will come out as turd. hence the Umlaut lol
Yeah, it didn't used to be that way. If you go back and read old threads, it shows up as turd snd it looks like that was my nickname or something.
Türd is much classier. 8)

Thanks all! And thanks, John. I see it as one of my life's accomplishments to have helped bring the word "turd" out of the bathroom and in to normal, adult conversation.
Having tons of fun with the GS and back to thinking about it non-stop. Will post photos once she's back and all cleaned up!

It's running! Perfectly, might I add...as if it hadn't been sitting for 5 years! 2 revolutions of the crank and it came to life! Still need to change the oil, install the air filter once it arrives, bolt the gas tank in place, wash the bike, and air up the tires. Should have it on the road by mid-week!
Horray for the homecoming queen...wtf? Hahaha
Dan
