Title: WTB 2 tiny little light covers for dash; Australia
Post by: Bigdonno on October 15, 2013, 08:38:06 PM
Hi
I'm brand new to forum and this is my 1st post. Awesome forum here btw! :)
Just got my 1st bike a cpl weeks ago and it's unregistered at the moment and haven't had much chance to ride it as I had to travel out to work 2days after I bought it :/
Anyway I'm trying to sort some parts I may need to have it registered while I'm away so it's good to go when I get back.

I need those tiny little light covers that go over the headlight on and indicator on warning lights. I've circle the ones I need on the attached pic. Wld be awesome if someone could sell me a cpl or better yet if anyone has some old ones lying around they don't need to post me them and of course I would pay postage xD I'm in Queensland Australia so even better if ur a local.
Not even sur if I need these for roadworthy but wld look better with them anyhow.
Thanks for ur time.

The blue gets lost a lot because the high beam indicator heats it up (when you run always with the high beam on) and then the plastic & glue get weak and it pops off.

Rare to get them because they are not sold as a separate item. You get them from trashed gauge brackets.

You can put in reds & greens if you are OK with that because the blue is rare. Also put in LEDs for the indicators. Use colored LEDs. Brighter and purer color.

If you were in Seattle I'd say drive over and grab the LEDs and a couple greens. (No spare blues at the moment)
Blue LED under a green cap works OK. The plastic caps are not a perfect color filter.

$40 for the whole cluster.... So you would get spare parts for the gauges too!?

Yes! I have my little light covers! Thank you Coda!
Got the bike safety inspected  and registered yd.  It's so good to finally be able to ride this thing wherever I want instead of doin laps around the block on an unregistered bike. Tho I did manage to pull off the never to be repeated stunt of running outta fuel on the m1. Was embarrassing and also dangerous.
Anyway 9000 + karma to u my friend.
