So first Ill start off with hi to everyone. I've done a lot of reading through this site and learned a lot about my bike from it so thanks for that. This is my first post and I wish it was on a happier note. I have 2005 gs500f and I love it but its its not running right now. It started one day with me about to leave for work and it goes about a 100 yards and dies.so I I messed with it and it would do that and for a bit then. It started to only idle and then begin to idle rough and now it wont even start. It will turn over but will not start. I've tried replacing the fuel, checking fuel lines to make sure they are clear, cabs look clean ( I don't have much experience with them), replaced air filter, oil/oil filter, and recharged the battery. I feel like I'm pretty mechanically Savoy but I'm nervous to just jump in and mess with things and making it worse. Any help would be greatly appreciated, just kind of looking for somewhere to start. Thanks.
Is there fuel in the tank? Not trying to be a jerk... ;)
If so, did you try the petcock in "prime"?
Dan
Yes there is, it might be diesel though

I've tried both on and prime, both have the same result... nothing lol
Are you getting a spark from your plugs?
Yes from both.
Carbs.
