Title: I Love My Car
Post by: Kijona on October 22, 2013, 10:53:07 AM
I just thought I'd show off the 4hrs worth of work I put into washing/detailing my car yesterday. Of course it rained today so it's a matter of time before it's right back like it was. Oh well.

Great job on that detailing. It looks pristine. I wish I still gave that much of a crap about my Stratus. At 108k miles, I'm just trying to keep that sludge machine running lol.

Yeah... I shouldn't say that I don't give a crap about it, but it's definitely not where it used to be. I've got a few rust bubbles popping up, and nicks on the hood from gravel and whatnot on the highway. I've gotten past trying to keep it perfect. Now I just keep a primer pen in it and patch up any new stuff I see. It's a real shame, too. I put a lot of love into this car in the past 5 years. Maybe I'll start tackling that rust and touch up everything, then give it a good detailing. She needs some more love, I think.

The corolla has historically been one of Toyota's most reliable and fuel efficient vehicles.

This concludes another episode of "John's Fun Fact of the Day"!

I do agree, though. My sister had a '95 Corolla stick shift that we just could NOT kill. It's probably still on the road somewhere lol.

as opposed to the camry .. which may be popular... but are crap boxes driven by beige cardigan wearing, road rule oblivious, self satisfied pocket snooker playing and all round wanker...... drivers!!

people buy a camry because they have lost all interest and passion in motoring... sure they have a sport version/s .. but im talking about the bog stock commuter box .. blech!! :flipoff:

I have a Holden Nova which is a re-badged Toyota Corolla. Actually I have 2 of them. One we use and one I have parked up for spares in case I need it. (have never needed it yet and have had it for 2 years so far.)

How would a greasy string get in your cats butt ?

I also like Corolla's. And the Prius. There's just something about vehicles whose form follows function without sacrificing its form for its function that is cool in its own way.

Haha, I've since taken it off - I got tired of it. I may re-do the badges in red or maybe just leave them as-is.

And no fart can here...I love how quiet and tame the car is. It's not a sportscar and isn't trying to be. Though it does look fairly sporty!

well a proper exhaust on it if it were your thoughts. not obnoxiously loud, but a bit of a rumble Eh?, but do it right, remap the EFI, the intake and the exhaust. doing one without the others is like thoring money away.  now the lettering, it being black, maybe something that would contrast it. red is a good thought.  idk. you have any more pics of the ride?, I do see potential there if you wanted to take it further.

maybe they do. blue after all is one of my favourite colours.  ( I collect sapphires and aquamarines out of the loose stone stash.  I guess blue on black never  got me. just a personal thing. but to kijona or 3whomever else, if it works for you, then by all means :).
