Title: Rough between 4.5-5.5k rpm
Post by: bryan88 on October 30, 2013, 01:05:56 AM
Since fitting my new chain a few months ago I've noticed a slight roughness between 4.5 and 5.5k rpm in all gears. Nothing serious, and once past it she feels smooth even up to 7k (about 140km/h, seldom go any faster). Is this the jetting issue that people talk about? (I don't think it's the chain as the old one was so stuffed the whole bike was rough) I have no idea what the current jetting is and aside from that the bike is running beautifully. Thanks

IDK if it's really sposed to be there... I do get a bit of a tremor through that rev range you mention though?? .. Dunno if it's maybe a mid to hi jet 'change point' or like a Holden car 'scuttle shake' .... Or just a idiosyncrasy of the GS engien

Nope, never noticed anything like that for me. I usually commute around 4k - 5k, so maybe I'm just used to it? Have never really noticed anything usual in transition from other rev bands though, except of course after 6k where it starts to pick up quicker.
