agreed......... down here they can ride 2 across on the straights but are supposed to go single file the corners what pisses me off the most was the guys at the back looked at us and continued to ride 2 abreast

Respecting cyclists? What has the world come to when you can't rev your engine at them or honk them or yell "Put a F**king motor on it!" as you pass?!

wsome of us, seems you too oz have respect for fellow users on the road :). and zook wth. I hope you never have to depend on a bicycle to commute and have to deal with behavior like that lol. cause legally in most locations bicycles cannot use sidewalks. hard enough to get around without having to deal with that sh*t lol :technical:
Rode a pushbike to school and work for many years. But always mindful of motorists and the fact that they are faster than me. I don't actually abuse them like a redneck would but it's hard enough to get around without having to deal with a dork in lycra doing 30kph in an 80kph zone, I say. Other week, I stopped at the lights, a cyclist came to the front of the traffic. Everyone had to overtake him which slowed everyone down, then the next set of lights.. he comes back to the front again! Insanity!
same here........ I don't have a problem with them as long as they don't ride like nob ends, its like us, if they ride and endanger themselves then I have a problem with them because its not just them there putting at risk.
as for yelling at them...... well im sure they wont take it personally 99% of auzzies would just yell back
nice try zook. rednecks dont do metric ;) :nono: :flipoff: :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

try looking at a pushbike ridres point of view using your point of view. we cant be at the back because of people on cages and motors running them over cause they dont care. or dont want to care. take it up with local municipalities for dedicated bike lanes if you want them off th eroads. where legally theyve as much right to be as you or i would ( if i were still driving. )
Way I see it you are more likely to get run over when the car is behind and trying to get ahead of you. Kinda hard to get run over by the back of a car moving forward? :dunno_black: They have every right to be on the road, and I have every right to voice my frustration with them and their road manners!

Am not denying that my friend. as they have ever6y right to voice their displeasure with your attitude, ( common actually not a personal jab at you :) ) see, thing is pushbikes or whatever theyre called there are treated as motor vehicles. sans motor. run light ticket. ( albeit loosely enforced. etc etc. petition the city to either allow bikes on sidewalks or make bike lanes everywhere. and forbid cars from entering those. and vice versa :) I don't see this happening. but I have to deal with this on a daily basis since I am sans licence. and no its not from a DUI> I took myself off the road due to declining health. I have to ride 2" from the ravine DAILY. been into it so far because of cars and motorcycles forcing me in. its a give and take relationship you and I have. ( meaning a moto rider and a cyclist or in my case goped lol) we both have to give something up to get what we want. you want me off the roadnow earlier, I said its safger to be at front. not from front car but from those coming up from behind. theyd have to hit other cars to hit me and ive been hit 4 times in past year. I dont have proper moto attire yet. cept for a half helmet. . honestly my friend, id like to hear your feasible alternative :) and then will give you mine :) maybe spomethign at some point can be worked out Eh?
I think it's perfectly acceptable for them to use the road just like everyone else, just at minimal inconvenience to motorists. Motorists pay huge amounts of tax to be able to use the road, cyclists don't. I don't mind sitting behind a cyclist until there is a straight and safe place to overtake but you'd think they'd let you past when that opportunity comes. They often don't, and that's when i growl at em. The fact you've been hit 4 times in a year is terrible, and the people who hit you should probably have paid more attention and given more space.

Honestly my friend it comes with the territory.; I do see your point of view. and if you've cycled as you've said. you know this. like motorcycle riding there is a small chapter called etiquette. most here are familiar with it. if you jam traffic, and have no way to not do so, then at the first place you can SAFELY do so move over, let jam clear before proceeding as you were. I had 4 gopeds. now on number 5. I bunnyhopped my second one across the hood of a Honda accord. going 30-35 its fairly easy. its either do that or hit it anyways. shes looking left as I come up on opposing lanes. because I am not permitted to use shoulders. plus I was entering the parking lot of market. which would explain. wonder-woman in said Honda, while gabbing on phone, pulls out and STOPS> NO cars coming. well I did what I had to do. plus with camera rolling invited her to call the police and explain tire tracks on the accord. with video. she declined. 2 days later its stolen. am not going to post said video. because well I get angry when I see it. kind of like your frustration at inconsiderate cyclists, or my frustration at inconsiderate riders or drivers. our roads are paid via property taxes and such. here so
were all on an equal type funding levels . I just wish there was a way to make everyone happy Eh? im sure you do to. they ride, I ride, you ride. we all do. heres to My naivete thinking one day it will WILL work perfectly :)
Nothing makes me happier than to see a guy on a motorized pushbike going to work, having a good old go at it. But just like you said, the problem on the road is etiquette and right of way violations.

Some places motorizing them turns them into motorcycles or they try to regulate. some places its not worth it to go thru the hassles of registration and titling. tbh whatever ones M/O is for transportation, everyone needs an etiquette lesson. ( myself included) until roadways or laws are changed we all have to make use of what we've got to use.
The next edition this time riding to Hahndorf
yamahonkawazuki there's more of your mates :D
most of the folks I would ride with would maintain single file when traffic present. to not cause issues like encountered by some here. cause like ive said. weve all got to use the road here. so might as well try to use it TOGETHER. that is when lanes or wider shoulders were not there.
