I know my 82 GS450E didn't have a fuel pump, and I know this 06 GS500F doesn't have a fuel pump, but imagine my surprise when I find one that fits both for sale.

Apparently people are putting these things on everything from '52 2 stroke outboard motors to 2003 Victory Vision Tour bikes. WTF? Has anyone tried one of these? Could it make it easier to start on a cold morning? Is it going to fix me pancakes for breakfast instead of cheerios??? :dunno_black:
Wonder if it would even pump anything on a 180 degree crank two cylinder....
I had one of those little pumps on my f2 for awhile. Ran it like that for a year and seemed ok. Then had some carb issues and took it off. Didn't seem to make any difference afterwards,.....
Yamaha seca 2 needs one of those ... GS doesn't cos gravity is far more reliable.
But I think 180 degree or not, it would work.

Adds to defeat the appeal of the bike....simplicity.
It did say to pump fuel from a "remote fuel tank". So that would be if you ad an extra one in the paniers or something like that where they would be below the level of the carbs.
Or if you were riding upside down or on an asteroid where gravity would not be enough for the fuel to flow.

Neat product - didn't know it even existed.
I could see where it would be useful on an outboard motor - since the fuel tank is lower than the engine (at least on mine). The engine normally creates enough vacuum to draw fuel up into the carb, but it is possible for that vacuum to fail.
Right! That's gotta be the "use" of such a thing. Auxiliary tank in the saddle bag position for those "ironman" rides. Mystery solved, thanks guys!!!
