Damn, sounds like a lot of fun. Wish I could make it, but that's a good ways away from me.
I really wanna go especially since it's right around the corner... But I'm supposed to take my truck to Atlanta this weekend to get a liftkit installed. Grrrrr. I'm gonna try an reschedule.
That does sound awesome very long way from me though
WTF is gymkhana? looks like an obstacle course. although VERY fun. heck they change names frequently now lol. would still love to go. I ran one in my goped a few mos ago. air the tires up HARD and could oversteer easily.
Look it up on wiki, especially popular in Japan.
At first glance of the post title, I thought it was this;

this is a practice for NEXT. (hold on to that thought)
think of it as barrel racing (equestrian) for motorcyclists. the most important thing to happen is new, and seasoned riders improve their range of control in situations they are not accustomed to, and provide LOTS of fun in the process.
a simple figure 8 (GP8) throws many a seasoned veteran of motorcycling a real curve ball.
a pattern specifically made to exaggerate an ever increasing/ decreasing radius turn helps hone skills too.
there are many courses, and many many variations of those courses. all a rider needs is objects to place on a parking lot, grass lot, or whatever surface is available to maneuver around. 4-5 friends can make a REAL good time out of an afternoon doing this.
the fun is the instant reward.
that's -this- ride.
the NEXT time the rider heads out, he or she will FEEL the new found confidence and improved control over their motorcycle.
that odd uphill off camber driveway at school, is easy peas now.
their friends driveway that has that odd approach ? simple
the one parking lot you normally won't enter because of a weird hair pin ? forget it. childsplay
anyone that tries this for the NEXT ride will be proud of their accomplishments.
