OK I have a problem first off my bike has stock filter box, carbs and jets and muffler. So my problem is when I accelerate it is great and shifts smooth but when I de-accelerate while in gear my carbs start poping like a bike fire. I pulled the carbs off and cleand them ,they really weren't thatr dirty but I didn't a killer clean job and synced them back up and its not as bad as it was but still doin it.... I havnt checked valves but would assume it would be that cause ther acc. It great and idle smooth I'm stumped and help would be killer thanks
Are you popping from the muffler, or does it sound like your engine is sneezing into your carbs? If the exhaust is popping, that is fairly normal (I'm not sure if I have this correct, but the engine spinning faster than the tire causes suction and temporary lean condition which let's fuel into the headers which ignites in the headers and makes a popping noise.)
If it is on the carb side, check your valves, because you may have a tight intake valve which isn't closing fully. My bike was doing that, and I had a very tight intake valve.
Some popping on de-celeration is normal.
If you want to start thinking your bike is fine, ride a savage or a harley or somehting .... a old triumph ...
Cool.
Buddha.
No not out muffler just carbs and ill check the valves cause that's what I havnt done but mabe its nothing but imma freek when it comes to mataince thanks for the info and pardon the bad grammer my phone sucks
Yeah...it sounds like the flame from the bang is getting to the octane (too tight intake valves) :dunno_black:
